Symplectic symmetries of 3 dimesional gravity

We study the space of solutions to 3 dimensional Einstein gravity with negative cosmological constant and show that it can be promoted to a phase space. We then study the symplectic symmetries of this phase space and highlight its interesting properties. Implications of this study for a microscopic description of black hole entropy wil be briefly discussed.
