Description
Luminescent molecular silver (Ag) clusters stabilized inside sodalite cages of LTA zeolites have recently been reported with large Stokes shift upon UV excitation and broad emission colors covering the whole visible range. These peculiar properties make them very attractive as novel materials for optoelectronics and bioimaging application. However, the detailed structure of confined Ag clusters and particularly their correlation to optical properties at this molecular scale is poorly understood. In this talk, structural to optical properties relationship of the confined Ag clusters are explained by using synchrotron based spectroscopic techniques.
