X-ray Absorbtion Fine Structure (XAFS) beamline is one of the first priorities of the Iranian Light Source Facility day-one beamlines. This beamline will cover the research requirements of scientific community in the fields of physics, material science, chemistry, etc. Scope of this paper is design of the beamline to meet the Iranian users requirements such as energy range: 3-35 keV, flux:...

The use of electromagnetic waves is increasing with the advent of technology and the invention of new systems. One type of electromagnetic waves is X-rays that have various applications in various fields of medical such as diagnostics (radiography, mammography, CT scan,…) or treatment (IMRT, 3DCRT, MR-LINAC ,…), industry (device Material analysis like XRF, XRD ...), military applications...

One of the simplest and relatively cheap gaseous detectors that widely used in high-energy physics and astro-particle physics is resistive plate chamber (RPC). The composition of detector gases is one of the important parameters in gaseous detectors performance. Three types of gases usually are used in an RPC for a gas composition that include ionized gas, UV quencher gas and electron quencher...

This research has been reported on quantitative evaluation of data in the microscopic X-ray fluorescence analysis of metal objects. We study the X-ray gain from the incident photon to the sample in two X-ray detectors. The symmetry in the X-ray interest obtained in two detectors is due to the lack of X-ray absorption in the material along the detectors and due to the smooth structure of sample surface.

Medical imaging is one of the most important medical diagnostic processes. Different imaging modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography, mammography, etc) are used to capture various organs with specific aim and features. One of the imaging modalities that plays a critical role in detecting injuries is the CT scan imaging system, which in addition to providing tomography images, have...

One way to increase the contrast of the image in soft tissues is to use the k-edge subtraction imaging of the k-edge in soft tissues. In this method, the image can be captured by injecting a contrast agent into the tissue and recording two images, one before k-edge and one after the k-edge, and then logarithmic subtraction of two images. With this method a perfect contrast image can be...

Interaction of charged particles in a detector, can cause ionization and excitation of the atoms and molecules. Secondary ionization (electron avalanche inside a gaseous detector and its output signal) strongly depended to primary ionization, and primary ionization is a complicated function of the type and energy of incident particle and physical property of target material. In this study...
