Research on negative hydrogen ion sources is growing due to applications in materials science, high-energy physics, and nuclear fusion. Improving the H⁻ source at the University of Tehran (part of the national medical cyclotron project) motivates this study. A previous PIC (Particle-in-Cell) code developed at the Faculty of Physics is now being extended to a fluid model within the same framework. This enables comparison between the two approaches and is a step toward a hybrid code. Since vibrationally excited states play a key role in H⁻ production, and electron transport coefficients are essential for fluid/hybrid simulations, we use the Monte Carlo method to calculate: Electron transport coefficients and Vibrational excitation rates of H₂ over a wide range of reduced electric fields (E/N). Additionally, the effect of a magnetic field perpendicular to the electric field on these quantities is investigated.
