Description
Advanced accelerator research is aimed to increase the accelerating field gradient several orders of magnitude compared with the conventional accelerators, therefore reduce the size and cost of high-energy particle accelerates. New power sources such as high-intensity lasers and relativistic beams, and their interaction with plasmas provide tools for advanced accelerators. Computer simulation plays a crucial role in this field of research to understand the underlying physics, design new experiments and find optimum parameters relevant to the experiments. In this talk, I will present a brief introduction to numerical techniques in laser-driven and beam-driven accelerators.
