In this talk, we introduce a position sensitive gas detector based on a Micro CAT gas detector which will be used in variable experiments with synchrotron radiation. Firstly, the design and the simulation of Micro CAT have been performed and then a prototype detector with an active area of 10*10 cm^2, has been developed and fabricated according to these design parameters. Primary tests have been carried out using characteristic X-ray source demonstrating the position encoding capability of this detector. And also, the performances of the detector were tested using a 55Fe radioactive source.
