1 Disentangling effects of the initial stage from the evolution stage in heavy ion collisions using EPOS and PHSD

In this study, we try to better understand in which way the very initial stage on one side and the dynamical evolution on the other side affect final results in heavy ion collisions. We will construct a new approach, referred to as EPOSi+PHSDe, where the usual EPOS initial conditions are used as starting point of the evolution of partons and hadrons according to PHSD. We study the space-time evolution of matter in the new approach, and compare it to the one in EPOS (with hydrodynamical evolution) and PHSD (with initial stage from Pythia), which allows to understand substantial differences in the distributions of final particles in the three approaches. We focus on transverse momentum spectra and flow harmonics in Au-Au collisions at 200 GeV/A.
