Confining dark sectors are among well-motivated models of dark matter. In this talk, I will point out a few intriguing dynamics in such sectors with drastic effects on their phenomenology. In particular, I will point out how a first order confinement phase transition affects dark matter relic abundance and opens up hitherto unexplored parameter space. I will also briefly advertise an on-going work on signals of such confining dark sectors in direct detection experiments.
