      Radiation-Based Beam Diagnostics: From Physical Principles to Implementation at ILSF 1h

      Radiation emitted by relativistic charged particles carries detailed information about beam properties and forms the basis of many modern accelerator diagnostics. This presentation introduces the physical principles underlying radiation-based techniques, including synchrotron, transition, diffraction, and Cherenkov radiation, and discusses how these mechanisms are exploited for non-invasive measurements of transverse beam profiles and ultrashort electron bunches. The general framework for longitudinal bunch reconstruction from coherent radiation spectra is reviewed, including the concepts of form factors, spectral measurements, and phase retrieval. Finally, the presentation discusses the design considerations, selection criteria, and current status of radiation-based beam diagnostics being developed for the Iranian Light Source Facility (ILSF).
